CVR ( Cockpit Voice Recorder )

The introduction of solid-state cockpit voice recorders with no moving parts and no routine maintenance made the previous-industry-standard tape units virtually obsolete. These third-generation recorders have been developed in compliance with the newest, most rigorous testing standards stipulated by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other aviation authorities around the world.

Features:

  • Recording times:
    • CVR-30B: 30 minutes
    • CVR-120: 120 minutes (2 hours)
  • Voice stored in solid-state flash memory
  • Maintenance on Condition yields lower cost of ownership
  • 30,000-hour MTBF
  • ARINC 757/557 Compatible
  • Six Channels
    • Three crew microphones
    • One area microphone
    • Helicopter rotor speed
    • GMT or FSK time
    • Datalink provisioned

FMS ( Flight Management System )

Since introducing the original UNS-1 Flight Management in 1982, They have continually taken the industry forward with a pilot-focused vision of flight management. Today’s Super Flight Management Systems build upon our popular UNS market-proven product design, offering new features and interfaces, and providing growth capabilities to take you into the new era of Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) evolving in the world flight environment.

The product line has evolved into a complete family of Flight Management Systems positioned to target overlapping segments of the market from turboprops, light jets and helicopters, through medium and large business class aircraft, to regional and major commercial airliners.

Designed by pilots, for pilots, the intuitive operating system provides pilots the greatest situational awareness, the most efficient data entry, and easily interpreted color displays. System features provide pilots with the ability to seamlessly fly all procedures from takeoff to touchdown along with optimized fuel and performance parameters. The net result: precise navigation, less pilot head-down time, better aircraft and crew resource management and an overall increase in the safety of flight.

System Features
  • High resolution, sunlight readable, color flat panel display
  • Internal 12-channel GPS/GLONASS receiver
  • Pilot and Company route storage
  • Nav Database includes SID/STAR procedures, airways, holding patterns, approaches, plain-language navaid references, and more.
  • Procedural leg guidance per ARINC 424
  • Heading Mode and PVOR Tracking
  • VNAV with computed Top-of-Descent, Target Vertical Speed and Vertical Direct-To.
  • Holding patterns with auto entry
  • 3-D Approach Mode for “ILS-like” guidance on all non-precision approaches
  • Fuel Management
  • Performance Management for specific aircraft
  • Frequency Management option
  • UniLink compatible
  • TAWS compatible
  • LAAS and WAAS upgradeable

TAWS ( Terrain Awareness and Warning System )

TAWS Terrain Awareness and Warning System is designed to provide the pilot with increased situational awareness and reduce the possibility of accidents associated with Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT). The TAWS system takes aircraft state information from onboard sensors along with flight path intent information from our Flight Management System and combines these with its own internal worldwide terrain database. The resulting unprecedented “look-ahead” capability can provide warnings and alerts well in advance of potential hazards, allowing time for the pilot to make the necessary maneuvers or data corrections for terrain avoidance. TAWS provides the pilot with hazard advisories along with real-time graphical displays of the terrain surrounding the aircraft dynamically displayed in three views: Map View as if looking down from above, Profile View as if looking from the side, and a unique 3-D Perspective View. These views are available on video-capable devices such as our MFD-640 Flat Panel Multi-Function Display and our FMS Control Display Units with 5-inch screens—both available for new and older aircraft alike. A Map View of terrain is available via ARINC 708/708A for radar displays.

EFI890R Electronic Flight Instrument and Vision 1 Synthetic Vision System

The EFI890R has been designed specifically for the retrofit market. It will replace your existing ADI (or A/H), HSI (or D/G), ASI, ALT, VSI, T/C and RADAR Indicator with a single PFD and MFD (or ND). These large format (8.9" diagonal) glass screens meet FAA requirements for Part 23 and Part 25 aircraft. The two independantly functioning 'Smart' screens feature internal signal conversion and data processing systems which allow them to conenct directly to a multitude of aircraft systems therefore reducing the need to replace existing hardware.

The Vision-1® Egocentric 3-D View is designed for PFD and EADI applications. The system maintains the standard foreground symbology with traditional flight director cues and replaces the blue/brown background with imagery depicting the terrain view in real time for the direction the aircraft is heading, complete with pitch and roll. It enhances pilot situational awareness by providing an advanced dynamic terrain image integrated with the flight plan and projected flight path of the aircraft. Vision-1 will allow the pilot to “see” the terrain ahead in 3D as he monitors the flight instruments. The topographical coloring is similar to that used on aviation sectional charts. Hills and mountains appear in shades of green and brown while oceans and other large bodies of water are in blue. Special shading on the digitized terrain and a grid overlay that conforms to the landscape on the synthetic world below help the pilot get a sense of movement in flight, particularly when flying near the ground.
