EC135 With Glass To Spare Eurocopter EC120 'Colibri'

Before

After

You can never have to much glass in the cockpit. Here's proof.
This Eurocopter EC135 Has a total of 9 glass screens. The original 4 Thales PFDs and NDs + 3 engine and status monitors all installed at the factory + the MX20 and GPS400 installed here.

This job was a joint effort between Eurocopter New Zealand and South Pacific Avionics, which required a new (wider) R/H instrument panel and widening of the composite glareshield

Avionics Installed:

  • Garmin GMX200 MFD
  • Garmin GPS400 GPS
  • Avidyne TAS620
  • Traffic Awareness System

We have completed several installations for Eurocopter New Zealand ranging from full installations in bare helicopters (like the one above) to customisations that match the machine to the end users operations. All have gone very smoothly and to plan. Eurocopter aircraft provide an excellent platform for us to demonstrate the standard of workmanship demanded by the worlds best helicopter manufacturer.

    Avionics Installed:

  • Garmin GMX200 MFD
  • Bendix/King KLN94 GPS
  • PS Engineering PXE7300 Entertainment
  • Bendix/King KMA28 (PMA7000) Audio/ICS
  • Bendix King KY196A VHF Comm (X2)
  • Bendix/King KT76C Transponder
  • Microlights, Ultralights, LSA and Homebuilts Aspen EFD1000 Pro Install in a Duchess

We cater for installations in all light aircraft. The Tecnam P92 panel above contains:

  • Dynon D10A EFIS (Centre top of pilot's panel)
  • Garmin GPSMAP695 Moving Map Portable GPS in an Air Gizmos Panel Dock (Top of radio stack)
  • Icom IC-A210 VHF Comm (Middle of radio stack)
  • Garmin GTX327A Transponder (Bottom of radio stack)
  • JP Instruments FS450 Fuel Flow (Top left of co-pilot's panel)
  • PS Engineering PM501 Intercom (Bottom left of co-pilot's panel)
  • We offer a full installation service, or we can fabricate a wiring harness to assist you with your own installation.

This installation replaced a tired A/H and HSI with an Aspen EFD1000 Pro Electronic Flight Display. The instrument panel required no modification as the aspen is designed to install in the same panel cutouts as two standard instruments. The EFD1000 contains an ADAHRS (Air Data and Attitude Heading Reference System) which gives the pilot much more information that the old A/H and HSI could. The extra features contained in the EFD1000 meant that the Assigned Altitude Indicator, Alt Preselect and Slaving Accessory could all be removed. The old A/H was retained and re-located to the co-pilot's instrument panel as it is still required to drive the autopilot system.
